The BTEI provides part-time education programmes in order to give people an opportunity to combine learning with family, work and other responsibilities.

Anyone who has left full-time education can take part, but priority will be given to those with less than upper secondary education.

Subjects are wide and varied and may range from Communications, Art, Computers or Maths etc. Courses may be subject to public demand. Certification if desired may be provided through Junior or Leaving certificate, FETAC (NCVA), ECDL and Microsoft

The classes are flexible and can be offered on a part-time basis in mornings, afternoons and weekends.

These programmes offer a bridge to other second chance courses.
