South Westmeath Adult Literacy Scheme
Content/Type:
This scheme provides tuition to adults who have difficulty in reading, writing and spelling. Literacy skills are taught through various courses, in small groups, such as:
- Numeracy
- Childcare
- Communications
- Personal & Interpersonal Skills
- ESOL
- Crafts
- Cookery
- Art
- Computers
FETAC accreditation is offered in all of the above should students wish to avail of it.
Mode of Attendance:
Students learn on a one-to-one basis with a volunteer tutor or in small groups. Times vary to suit the needs of the student.
Duration:
As long as necessary, depends on the individual's needs.
Possible Progression:
Other second chance education programmes.
