Welcome to Columba College, which is a co-educational post primary school serving its community for 60 years under the administration of County Westmeath Vocational Educational Committee. This school has an excellent record of serving the communities within Delvin, Kinnegad, Hill of Down and the Downs school catchment area by equipping students with excellent academic, vocational and entrepreneurial skills.    Over this time we are very proud of the way the school reflects inclusivity by caring for individuals, respecting difference and valuing achievement.    In recent years the structure of our community has changed and we now enjoy a large increase in population as a result of investment and development in our catchment area.    Our recognition of the need for a programme of life-long learning is catered for by the provision of an extensive programme of evening courses both academic and hobby.    We look forward to the challenges of the future with the ongoing participation of the increased population of our catchment area in our tradition of success and achievement.

Extra-Curricular

Extra-curricular activities enable our students develop fully in mind, body and spirit during this time of personal growth and development - Camogie, Hurling, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Athletics, Chess, Badminton, Soccer, Snooker, Table-Tennis, Boxing, Public Speaking, Drama/Music Debating and First Aid.    Our school recognises the invaluable contribution that extra-curricular activities make towards the holistic development of pupils.

Co-Curricular

As educators, we recognise the need of our students to become aware of social and economic issues beyond the school gate.    Here we work through our co-curricular programme to enable students develop practical skills to enhance their academic success.
