Junior Certificate School Programme (JCSP)

Junior Certificate School Programme (JCSP) provides a curricular framework that helps to make the Junior Certificate more accessible to young people who may leave school early.    An additional element of the JCSP framework may include a literacy and numeracy programme.    On completion of the programme, students are entered for the Junior Certificate Examination and the school gives them a Statement of Achievement and a profile that lists their skills and aptitudes.

The JCSP is based on the concept that all young people are capable of real success in school and that they can have a positive experience of school if the conditions are favourable.

Through involvement in the programme it is hoped that students who participate will develop a positive self-esteem, improve their basic skills in literacy and numeracy, improve school attendance and ultimately achieve a final positive record of achievement.
